The Encounter: a night of worship

Come and join Revolution Youth for our once a month service, the Encounter! Come on this glorious Palm Sunday as we share an incredible night of worship with A Revolution(Within) and the RevoYouth team. We will be taking communion, worshipping with the Word of God, and getting into that intimate place with Jesus as we celebrate His Kingdom come!

Spring Break = RevoYouth Fun Night!

That’s right! For those of you not on a beach or on the slopes, we have a solution to your spring break boredom: Fun Night at RevoYouth!

This Wednesday night, at normal service time for Fuze and LifeTogether, Micah, Zach, and the RevoYouth team will have

GUYS: bring chips and dip; GIRLS: bring drinks and desserts — See you there!

Men of Valor and Her Virtue Registration on Sunday Mornings

Ok folks, I know we have been advertising that registration for Men of Valor and Her Virtue 2012 would be available on Sunday mornings in the foyer at the Youth Booth, but the online registration system is a bit more complex than we perceived.  But, we will be providing something that has been used from the dawn of time: paper forms for registrations! Yes, we will have those ready for you to fill out and sign to secure a spot for MOV or HV ’12. Sorry any inconvenience!

The Encounter – March ’12 Wrap Up

The Encounter was quite a night last night! We were privileged to have The BCM Band come lead us in an awesome time of worship! Our media team brought it’s best to the table with their version of video announcements, called Action News AND a promo video for our Love INdeed social justice initiative. And, as always, Pastor Jacob brought the good stuff with a message that teenagers desperately need to hear. Not to mention, our foyer looked AWESOME, thanks to Misti, Cecily, and the rest of the Guest Services team. It was truly a special night for RevoYouth. Don’t worry! We’re still here!

Sorry guys! The new year has brought new challenges along with it, but nothing RevoYouth.tv can’t handle! Just want to inform you guys of a couple of things.

1) We still have our weekly services of Fuze (J.H.) and Life Together (H.S.), every Wednesday, at 7pm!

2) The Encounter is this Sunday and we’d like to see YOU there along with the rest of your family, worshipping with us and receiving the Word of God! 6pm in the Children’s Church Sanctuary, THIS Sunday night, March 11.

3) Men of Valor and Her Virtue registration is now available! $45/student, and you can go to dsheriff.org and look under the “Coming Events” tab, or come find us at the Youth Booth in the main foyer on Sunday mornings and we will walk you through the rego steps!

Fuze and Life Together Launch/The Encounter, December

Hey RevoYouthians! Tomorrow night, Wed., Nov. 30th, we will be launching our new, split services: Fuze (J.H.) and Life Together (H.S.)! We are really excited about how this is going to allow us to teach more age-appropriately, and to kick things off for Fuze, we’re going to have a Fuze Christmas Fun Night tomorrow night! Sorry High-schoolers, I haven’t heard of anything that fun for you guys tomorrow, but you will still have a great service, headed up by Mr. Zach “Papa Bear” Backues himself! So don’t forget to wear a coat and DON’T FORGET to bring canned food and coats for our Love INdeed drive for the needy!

Also, it seems like it hasn’t been that long, but THIS Sunday is our next Encounter service! If you weren’t able to go to the last one, don’t beat yourself up! Just make it this Sunday night, at 6:00 pm for an awesome Encounter with God.  We have Pastor Jacob Sheriff bringing the Word again and our youth worship team from Sherman RevoYouth will be leading us in worship! So come have some fun with us and God this Sunday night!

Love INdeed Christmas Outreach

From when you read this till December 14th, RevoYouth’s outreach initiative, Love INdeed will be receiving donations of coats and canned goods every Sunday and at every youth service.  We will be making baskets to help keep those in need fed and warm this Christmas!  We will have boxes at the youth booth in the main foyer on Sunday mornings, and at the info bar at youth on Wednesdays!

The Encounter November Review/Love INdeed Outreach

Hey guys! Sorry about the lack of updates to the website, we’ve been really busy getting ready for and putting on The Encounter, our new once-a-month youth celebration service! I cannot describe how awesome it was to see full families there, worshipping God together, unified in love.  Pastor Jacob gave a great message on turning Garbage Dumps into Gardens and how God makes beautiful things out of us.  We will be sticking with that theme all month, so you don’t wanna miss out as we dive into what that means for us here and now! For those of you who weren’t able to make it or don’t know what the Encounter is, go to the “Events” tab above and click on “The Encounter” to learn more about it! Our next one will be on December 4th. More details to come.

Also, this Saturday our outreach initiative, Love INdeed, is providing an opportunity for YOU to serve in the community and be the light of God, right here in Durant, Amuuuuurica! We will be helping out at Victory’s Hands of Hope Outreach Food Bank, this Saturday, November 12, and we will be meeting at 9:30am in Victory Life’s parking lot.  There is a permission slip required to go, so if you don’t have one yet, go to Revolution Youth’s Facebook page and download it from the “Photos” section, fill it out, have it signed by mom or dad, and bring it Saturday morning! It’s gonna be fun on the bun!

Mandatory Volunteer Orientation

Thank you for all who came to Ministry Connect on Sunday! For those who weren’t able to make it, we had a great turnout, and we love that our church is providing ample opportunities to get involved with the ministry.

REMINDER: If you filled out a volunteer application form at Ministry Connect or anytime this week, there is a mandatory orientation meeting at 1pm this Sunday, October 16th, after 3rd service in the Youth Sanctuary/Chapel.  We will be quickly outlining some basic policy and procedures for Revolution Youth Ministry.  See you this Sunday!
